BIO
BALTIMORE BORN GARAGE AMERICANA
Rattlewood was born as a trio in Baltimore in 2012. Since then, the group has released one EP and three full length albums: "Rattlewood" (2014), "The Lhords Chords" (2016), "Gunpowder Falls" (2019), and "Rattlewood Loves Everyone" (2024).
The ever-growing music collective (now a septet) has so many damn people that they can’t play at some of their favorite Baltimore dives because the stages are too small to fit them all. Their music has evolved with the additions but is still firmly rooted in the self-described “Garage Americana” genre. The instrumentation of guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, piano and drums is accompanied by putting a microphone in front of each of their mouths to make joyful noises, whether they can sing or not. From markets to house shows, and music venues to weddings, Rattlewood brings a good time to every stage they play, mostly because Rattlewood loves everyone.

Rattlewood releases fourth full-length studio album
Americana band adds drummer
Rattlewood, the Americana octet from Baltimore, MD, has completed its latest studio album Rattlewood Loves Everyone on vinyl and streaming platforms. The 12-song album is the follow up to 2019’s Gunpowder Falls LP and is the band’s most eclectic collection of original songs to date.
Rattlewood Loves Everyone leads off with Easy To Love, a laid-back sing-along distinctive of the band’s acoustic style but then takes off into new and sometimes unexpected directions with the band veering into roots rock (Torn Up and Down, Tina), country/bluegrass (Isla, Third Marriage) and contemporary ballads (The Coast, 275 East, Kissed Too Soon.)
Steven Reynolds (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica) provided lyrics along with Matt Reynolds. All members provide backing vocals throughout with call-and-response and harmonies, signatures of the band’s live sets. Rounding out the instrumentation are Jason Tabeling (bass, electric guitar), Amani Surges-Martorella (percussion, vocals), John Stevens (mandolin), Brad Sappington (banjo, lap steel), Joe Sklover (keyboards), Tim St. Clair (acoustic & electric guitar, fiddle) and Mike Carlin making his recording debut as drummer/percussionist. Guests included Mike Engel and A.J. Visgil, who also contributed lyrics. St. Clair served as producer with engineering, mixing, and mastering duties handled by Dave Downham at Gradwell House Studios.
The lead single, Kissed Too Soon, is available now on all streaming platforms with the full-length receiving wide release on April 25, 2024.
